The Notification No. Staff/8-31/15/2019 Dated 05.08.2019 uploaded in the website https://appost.in/gdsonline for filling up vacant Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts across Assam is Re-opened with effect from 27.01.2020 to 09.02.2020 for submission of application by fresh candidates as well as re submission of fresh option by the existing applicant if desired who filled up application as per earlier Notification dated 05.08.2019 as per revised criteria of local language studied upto class X.

Age Limit( as on 05.08.2019): Between 18 and 40 years respectively. Upper age limit relaxation is as per Govt. of India Rules.
Educational Qualification: Class 10th passed with passing marks in Mathematics and English (studied as compulsory/ elective subjects) from any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India. The Candidate passed Class 10th examination in the first attempt will be treated as meritorious against those passed compartmentally.
Compulsory knowledge of Local Language: The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects] as declared by the State Government.
List of State Official languages are –
a) Assam (Excluding Three Districts of Barak Valley and Bodoland Territorial Council Areas): Assamese
b) Three Districts of Barak Valley: Bengali
c) Bodoland Territorial Council Areas: Bodo
Basic Computer Training:
- Basic Computer Training Course Certificate from any Computer Training Institute (at least 60 days duration)
- If a candidate has studied computer as a subject in Class 10th or 12th or any other higher educational level then in such cases, a separate certificate will not be required.
Selection Process: Based on the merit list on the candidates’ online submitted applications.
How to apply: The candidate who desires to apply online will have to register himself/herself in the portal through https://indiapost.gov.in or http://appost.in/gdsonline with effect from 27/01/2020 to 09/02/2020 to obtain the Registration Number.
